A trolling motor install is not just bolting a motor to the bow. Done right, it includes proper deck reinforcement, the correct wire gauge from battery to motor, an inline breaker, a quality plug, and a mount that won't loosen the first time you hit chop. Done wrong, you melt wires, void warranties, and end up paying us to fix someone else's work.

We install trolling motors and shallow water anchors for boats of every size — from kayaks to bay boats to pontoons.

What's Included in a Proper Install

  • Mount inspection & reinforcement — we check your deck and add backing if needed
  • Correct wire gauge run — sized for the motor's amp draw and run length

  • Quality marine plug — the cheap ones corrode within a season

Common Install Mistakes We Fix

  • Undersized wire causing voltage drop and motor performance issues

  • Improper battery wiring (parallel vs. series) for 24V/36V systems
  • Onboard charger sized wrong for new battery bank
  • Transducer mounting in the wrong spot causing interference

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a trolling motor installation take?

A typical bow-mount install is a half to full day of work depending on the boat. We schedule installs in advance and most are completed the same day you drop off the boat.

Can you install a motor I bought online?

Yes. We install motors regardless of where they were purchased, as long as they are new or known-good condition.

Do I need to reinforce the deck for a new bow-mount?

Sometimes. Larger thrust motors (80–112 lb) put real load on the deck. If your boat has thin or rotted plywood, we recommend a reinforcement plate or backing — we can do that as part of the install.

What size trolling motor should I get for my boat?

Thrust is mostly about boat length and weight: rough rule is 5 lb of thrust per 100 lb of fully loaded boat weight. Shaft length depends on bow height to waterline. Call us with your boat info and we will help you spec the right setup before you buy.
